What Is Ideal Weight?
Ideal weight is a reference value showing the weight range generally considered healthy for your sex and height. It should be thought of as an approximate range, not a single exact number.
Calxin calculates it with common formulas such as Devine, Robinson and Miller, all of which work from height. A healthy weight range derived from the healthy limits of BMI is also provided.
Ideal weight varies from person to person based on bone structure, muscle mass and age. Since these formulas do not account for body composition, a muscular person's actual healthy weight may be above this range. The value here is for reference.
How Is Ideal Weight Calculated?
Ideal weight is a reference value showing the range generally considered healthy for your sex and height; an approximate range rather than an exact number.
There is no single formula; classic formulas work from height and add a certain weight for each inch over 152 cm (5 ft). Calxin uses the three most common:
in = height_cm / 2.54 (height in inches).
Calxin also provides a healthy weight range from the healthy limits of BMI (18.5–24.9):
Height is in metres.
